Seminars & Workshops
Half-day intensives on one specific threat — carjacking, knife, and firearm defense.
A seminar does one thing properly rather than six things loosely. You show up in the morning, you work a single scenario from every angle, and you leave with something you did not have when you woke up. For a lot of people this is the easiest possible way to start — a few hours, a fixed date, no commitment beyond the day.
These also travel well. If you have a group — a church, a running club, a neighbourhood, a company, a group of friends — I can bring any of these to you rather than waiting for a public date to line up with your calendar.
Anti-carjacking covers what happens in and around a vehicle: approach patterns, what to do at a red light, seatbelts and confined space, when the car is the weapon, and the fact that the correct answer is almost always to give them the car and never the passengers.
Knife defense is the most sobering one I teach, and I teach it honestly. Edged weapons are fast, quiet, and far more common than people think. There is no clean disarm that works reliably, and anyone selling you one is selling you something. What there is: recognising it early, creating distance, managing the arm, using barriers, and accepting damage in the right places instead of the wrong ones.
Firearm defense covers the small number of situations where doing something beats doing nothing — contact distance, when someone is being taken to a second location, and when compliance has already failed. Just as importantly, it covers the far larger number of situations where the right answer is to comply, and how to tell the difference.
