Women & Survivors

For women who are done feeling like a target — and for anyone rebuilding after something happened.

Most self-defense taught to women assumes a stranger in a parking lot. That is worth training for, and we will. But it is not the most likely thing, and pretending otherwise does women a disservice. Far more often the person is known, the situation builds slowly, and the hardest part is not physical at all — it is giving yourself permission to act.

So we train both. The leverage, the timing, and the handful of techniques that genuinely work when someone is bigger and stronger than you. And the part nobody teaches: how to trust the signal in your gut early enough for it to be useful, and how to be rude to someone who has not technically done anything yet.

If you are here because something already happened to you, I want you to know what this will be like. You will keep control of the room. Nobody puts hands on you without you saying so first. You can stop, step out, or end the session at any moment without explaining yourself, and it will not be treated as a failure. We can spend the first session doing nothing but talking, if that is what the day needs.

I am currently completing my training as a Christian trauma therapist, and it has changed how I teach this more than anything else in my career. Training a body that has been hurt is not the same as training one that has not. Done carelessly, self-defense training can put someone right back in the worst moment of their life. Done well, it can be one of the places they start to get themselves back.

Start with a conversation, not a commitment.

Tell me who the training is for and what is worrying you. No sales process, and nobody will chase you.
